Documentation for the masses

Project Carrier Pigeon is coming to an end

For those (if any) who read my blog, you may have noticed that posting has been pretty sparse lately. That's not to say I have not been documenting (because I have, trust me), but I have been pretty busy finishing up Carrier Pigeon project. As of now I have 3 functioning tools and a rough draft of the final research paper.

I am debating on releasing the tools themselves only because of the nature of their actions. There is no true need to release the code only because it serves no greater benefit to the community (the paper summarizes what would need to be fixed). However, there are ways to stop some of the attacks identified and minor checks (added by some of the providers) put into place to ensure nothing bad happens without you first accepting it (lame I know, but its not too bad - wait for the paper).

Ultimately the decision will come down to what I see as the best option (and what doesn't get me in trouble). I am finishing up some of my testing now and have already began taking all my notes and putting them into a paper structure. I hope to have everything complete (school pending) in the next coming weeks. Upon releasing the paper, it would be nice to get some comments as to whether the information was interesting or not. I have found this project to be a load of fun and I am having a hard time letting it go, but greener pastures await.
