Facebook Fan Box Module

Today I found myself in need of a quick and easy way to display a Facebook fan box within a Drupal site. To my surprise I found nothing that would just take in the few requirements (API key, profile id, etc.) and output a fan box. It took all of 20 minutes, but I figured I would post the finished module up on here.

Why Google Extensions Should Leave You Scared

Typically I don't spend my time documenting what I would think is common sense, but I found an issue close to my heart worth diving into. I wrote a Google Chrome extension the other day and was so amazed how easy Google had made it. I mean it was literally copying web code into the right file and hitting publish.

Famous Food Finder Google Chrome Extension

Lately I have been trying to think of ways to make Famous Food Finder more into a service that anyone can easily use and offer on their website. So far this has brought me to the beginning of creating several widget-like versions of Famous Food Finder. Development has already began on a Drupal module and a WordPress module will soon follow after that.

Adding Openfire Presence to Drupal

As mentioned in other blog postings, I run Openfire and have integrated chat functionality into my Drupal installation. One thing I really like about using XMPP is that I can update my presence online to let others know what I am doing or if I am available.

Updated User Directory Module for Download

I took a look back at the User Directory module and noticed that some of the ways I did a few things were outside of Drupal's coding standards. I went back and corrected these issues. There is no new functionality, but the coding is proper and the entries within the tree structure are in a proper Drupal table.

Odd Behavior With Openfire (3.6.3)

When I first started this blog I said I would never post snippets or documentation that wasn't full. I am however stumped on a problem and just wanted to throw my solution out there for any others also experiencing it.

Releasing FamousFoodFinder.com

For the past 2 months a friend and I have been working on a site (www.famousfoodfinder.com) that would allow users to search for famous restaurants. The idea initially came from the fact that I love food and have been considering traveling around the US for quite some time.

Installing Oracle libraries for PHP5 on Ubuntu Server 8.04

The other day I had the need to communicate with an Oracle Database server remotely. Looking online took me to a few sources and forum threads before I actually had a 100% complete installation working. Hopefully this will serve as a complete resource for installing and configuring what is needed to get the OCI libraries working with PHP5.

Updates on everything that is going on...

Class has started again (last semester), so my time is once again sparce, but I am happy to say that I have one main project in the pipeline that is currently recieving a lot of my attention. I will not be releasing any details about the project yet, but it should hopefully be running in the next month or so.
